Jerzy T. Sawicki

Jerzy T. Sawicki received his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 and is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University, as well as the Bently and Muszynska Endowed Chair. He is also the Director of the Center for Rotating Machinery Dynamics and Control (RoMaDyC) in the Washkewicz College of Engineering. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers and conference articles, one research monograph, co-edited three books, graduated 8 doctoral students and supervised more than 20 MS degrees. His research interests are in the area of structural dynamics, automatic control, rotordynamics, magnetic bearings, mechatronics, and structural health monitoring. He is a Fellow of ASME, licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, and earned the University Distinguished Faculty Award for Research in 2004. Dr. Sawicki serves as the Vice President for Research at Cleveland State University.
